All the staff pride themselves on our good quality, award winning Real Ales and Homemade Food. We are recognised by CAMRA in their Good Beer Guide. The pub has a warm cosy atmosphere helped by our real log fires in the winter.

Formerly a "Gales" pub, now a part of the Fullers Smith & Turner Group, Fullers have retained the Gales Brand and several of their finest beers. Currently we keep Seafarers and HSB (Horndean Special Brew). In addition we now serve Fuller's London Pride, the UK's most popular cask bitter, and ESB (Extra Strong Bitter). The Coal Exchange was the winner of the Pub of the Year 2005.

Our garden has a lawned area as well as a decked area for dining with parasols in summer and heating in winter above the tables.
